Tone Questionaire

1. What is the author's attitude towards actions or events?

In my opinion, the author's attitude about the actions or the events came really straight, like it tricked the audience at the beginning by saying that the murder was unknown, then slowly coming to the conclusion of the murder.

2. Is the story humorous or tragic or frightening? Does the author want you to laugh or cry, to feel happy or sad, to experience anger or fear?
The story is kind of a tragic and frightening to me. It was like a mind-blown story where the murder killed people to satisfy their own feelings.

3. What is the author's attitude toward characters or the narrator? Does the author like or dislike, trust or mistrust the characters or the narrator?
In my opinion, I think the author is trying to imply that getting jealous isn't a good thing, by showing Romaine and Leonard Vole

Symbolism Questionaires

1. What are some of the symbols in the story?

There are many symbols that could be found in this story. One example is from the story is when Romaine murdered Mrs. Emily because she thought that her husband, Vole, was cheating on here. If you think about the kind, its a form of jealousy. When people have jealousy and feels jealousy, they start to do stupid things, which then leads to a crime where she was frightened, so she accused her husband for the murder.

2. Are there any objects which seem to have a symbolic meaning? What are their meanings?
From what I read, I couldn't really find any particular symbolic meaning. But if you say, I would say a symbolic meaning would be jealousy. Like in the story, the murder happened due to the feelings of jealousy. So jealousy pretty much overtook Romaine and murdered someone.
3. Do any people act as symbols in the story? What do they represent?
Romaine, Wife of Leonard Vole, murdered Mrs. Emily due to the act of jealousy. When people have jealousy, they start to do stupid things then which it leaded to a murder.

4. Do aspects of the story's setting seem symbolic? In what way?
In my opinion, there is a way to describe it. In the story, it said "We sow what we see" That in my opinion will be a symbolic setting due to the fact of murder.

5. Is one symbol used throughout the story or do the symbols change?
Yes, only one symbol was used throughout the story.

Imagery Questions

1. What scenes, moments, descriptive passages, phrases, or words stand out in your reading of the story?
while i was reading the story, this scenes stands out the most in my mind. it is when everything is revealed and the real culprit is romaine not leonard and everyone was shocked to know the truth.

2. Did a particular image make you feel happy, or frightened, or disturbed, or angry? Why?
the picture on the first page where they show leonard as a bad guy made me feel abit distrubed. because after i finished the story, i found out that he is not the one who killed Emily French so why they drew Leonard as a bad guy at first.

3. Which of your five senses did this image appeal to? What do you associate with this image, and why? What do you think the author wants you to feel about a certain image?
i think the picture of leonard at first made people think that he is the main culprit and the antagonist. and i also think that the author wants people to feel that he is the bad guy but as the story progress, he actually is not the culprit but it was his wife.

4. How do you think your reactions to the imagery in the story contribute to the overall meaning of the story?
i think my reactions to the story made the overall meaning of this story very meaningful. because sometime, something we think is right might not be right and something we think is wrong might be right.
